Residence living at The Carey Centre is reserved for undergraduate and graduate students studying within the various faculties of the University of British Columbia and other local college campuses. Apartments are also available for faculty, staff or students. Students from the churches of the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada have priority.

Residence living is an important part of a student's educational experience. In order for them to benefit from this aspect of university life, each student should have a commitment to his/her own full personal development and the contribution of his/her abilities to the welfare of the community. Residence living is a "community" experience. The lessons learned here will be invaluable in a variety of communities throughout life, church, profession, business and society.

In common with UBC residences, it is expected that a student in residence would display courtesy and consideration and respect for the feelings of others and is expected to cooperate in attaining these goals and in particular to respect the privacy of each resident ... community living involves communication, cooperation, commitment, and consideration.

In addition, The Carey Centre has been established to provide a Christian community for students. The realization of Christian community requires all of the above qualities, joined with a commitment to the will of God, to the lordship of Christ and to the authority of scripture.
